The highly anticipated "Frozen Trail" update for Arc Raiders is about to be released, bringing a host of new features and changes to the game. Scheduled for October 8, this update not only introduces a new map and enemies but also changes how players will interact with the rewards system, with the arrival of a Battle Pass that, while not entirely free, promises to be worth it.
What is the New Reward Pass?
With the Frozen Trail update, Embark Studios is introducing the Reward Pass, which replaces the previous Raider Decks system. While players will still be able to access a Free Pass, there will be a paid option that costs 1,150 Raider Tokens, equivalent to about $10. The Free Pass will grant access to gameplay-changing items, such as new weapons and gear, while the Premium Pass will focus on cosmetic items.
How Does the Rewards System Work?
One of the most interesting features of the new Reward Pass is that players who opt for the Premium Pass will get back more than they spent. Completing the pass will grant 1,350 Raider Tokens, 200 of which are available in the Free Pass. This means that, in addition to new cosmetic options, players have the chance to profit from their purchases, thereby avoiding a pay-to-win system.
What's New on the Pendola Pass Map
The Pendola Pass map is one of the most exciting additions to the update. This new environment features brand-new challenges and enemies, such as the Bully, Skulker, and Hydra. Players will be able to explore areas that have never been visited before, enriching the game’s lore. The Frigate, a new airship, will also be introduced, offering raid events that require teamwork to overcome battles and solve puzzles.
Tools and New Gameplay Features
Frozen Trail will also introduce new gameplay items, including instruments such as the banjo and harmonica, which are sure to become community favorites. In addition, a climbing hook and a camera will be added, offering new mechanics and ways to interact within the game.
